I’ve been there. My drawers were a graveyard of beautiful, half-used planners. They all suffered the same fate: used enthusiastically for a few weeks, then abandoned. The reason? They were either too overwhelming with features I never used, or I’d skip a month and feel like the whole thing was ruined. I’d look at those blank, dated pages and feel a wave of guilt. It was a cycle of frustration that left me feeling more disorganized than when I started.
I’ve even tried to solve this problem before, creating my own simple desk planners. While they helped, I still found that a flexible, long-term solution was missing from my routine. So, I decided to stop the cycle for good and create my own. I set out to design a customizable, undated planner that actually works for real life—a planner that’s simple, flexible, and free of all the unnecessary fluff.
The first breakthrough was embracing the undated planner. This simple change was a game-changer for me. If I need a break from planning or life gets busy, I don’t feel like I’m wasting pages. I just pick up where I left off and fill in the dates. It’s so liberating!
When I was designing it, I knew I needed to keep the layout clean and easy to use. Goal setting, for example, always felt overwhelming in other planners. I found a simpler way with the SMART method, which breaks down a big goal into manageable steps. This made the whole process feel achievable instead of daunting.

I dedicated a two-page spread to the monthly calendar, leaving just the days of the week so I could fill in everything else myself. It gave me all the space I needed for appointments and reminders. To keep me going, I even included an affirmation for each month—a little bit of encouragement to start each one off right.
I also created four weekly task lists. And here’s a secret: I intentionally limited the number of tasks you can write down. I know myself well enough to know that if I don’t set a limit, I’ll try to cram too much in and then feel awful when I don’t get it all done. This forces me to prioritize only the most important tasks—a game-changer for my productivity.
“The key is not to prioritize what’s on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities.” – Stephen Covey
Finally, I added a monthly reflection page. This is my favorite part. It’s a guided space where I can look back on my wins from the past month and think about how I can do things differently next time. It’s a powerful tool for growth and learning.
This planner isn’t just a product; it’s a solution born from my own struggles. It’s designed for anyone who has felt the frustration of a planner that just doesn’t fit their life.
